He has never been a good patient. He becomes impatient and twitchy, hates the requirement to rest and spend hours in bed. The wound in his shoulder has already started to heal, itching fiercely. He's done his best to stay put, to mind Laurence when he's told but, after a week, enough is enough.

"I can't bear this a moment longer," he says, collapsing into a chair and huffing a sigh.
