Enough is enough.

He lasts a week, gathering fresh clothes from the clothes box, staying with either Julie or Priestly. He's been mostly serious and sullen, turning it over and over in his head. It's his fault - he knows that. And that means it's down to him to at least try to set it right.

It's evening, the sun already sunk below the horizon, by the time he comes home.

"Laurence? Will?"

"You could make it sound less like you're going to the gallows, Laurence," says Granby. "I'm sure you'll find somebody else who'll have you."

"That is not what I meant," Laurence replied, turning to Granby. He looked almost tired, mixed with an equal measure of confusion, as well as the complexion of a man who had -until very recently- been doing some rather heated kissing.

"Oh, I know," says Granby, equally flushed but a good but more rumpled. "Just...this is me for me too, Will. I'm used to things going somewhat differently from this."

"Perhaps we both need time, then." Though a part of him insisted that he should have moved off of the bed some time ago, Laurence did not. Despite everything, he did not want to leave Granby like that.

"Aye," says Granby with a nod and a small smile that warms blue eyes. "We've got all the time in the world, Will."
