There is always paperwork to be done. Granby has handwriting typical of an Aviator - educated by the Corps from the age of seven, there had always been more exciting things to do than practising making letters, especially once he'd started to show promise as a Mid. It's not that it's illegible, just that it's a bit of a scrawl and he does have a tendency to spread the words out more than they maybe need to be. Still, he's grateful of something to be doing, something to keep his mind occupied. He's been aware of being something of a scrub for the last week or so, but it really is impossible, unable to tell what way Laurence is going to go from one minute to the next.

Files? Are much easier to predict.

Granby glances up towards the clock. Not long until dinner, but time to finish what he's doing.

With no resistance, Laurence continued at much the same pace until they were both seated on the bed. Only then did he begin returning Granby's kisses in full.

His hand stays on the side of Laurence's neck, palm against warm skin, fingers stroking just under his collar. Granby pauses, turning his head, sucking on his bottom lip to send the kiss deeper.

Laurence responded as Granby wanted, deepening the kiss and pulling the other man closer to him, moving the fabric of Granby's shirt up just enough to graze his fingers across the bare skin of his hip. He could feel himself flushing through it all, but continued regardless.

It's only the lightest touch, the barest graze of Laurence's fingers against his skin, but it's completely unasked for and it's enough to make Granby shiver, just barely.

Taking the reaction as a small form of encouragement, Laurence continued the contact, light as it was. Granby certainly did not seem averse to it and even as Laurence pulled back a bit to look at the other man, he knew that he did not have to ask whether or not he should keep to his current route.

He could go mad, just from the feeling of Laurence's fingertips stroking against his bare skin. it's nothing, compared to the weight of his experience, but he just doesn't care.

Laurence pulls back, looks him in the eye and Granby doesn't say anything, but he does nod.

That nod was incredibly helpful to Laurence and he gave a small smile in reply, nodding as well before moving in to kiss Granby once more. It was a bit deeper than before, but still almost achingly slow.

It's so slow but deep enough to make him ache. It's a long time since someone took the time to kiss Granby like this, and his cheeks flush. He makes a soft sound against Laurence's mouth, pressed into the kiss.

At the noise, his fingers tightened, digging firmly into Granby's hip for a moment before quickly relaxing and lightening once more just as abruptly. Though he often felt foolish and out of his depth, he was still testing the boundaries of this new thing.

The grip on his hip is good, enough to make him shift against the bed if not against Laurence. He makes that sound again, swallows it, his mouth still pressed against Laurence's, kissing him as slowly as he can manage.

Laurence pressed more firmly once again when Granby shifted in that way. A soft sound of his own escaped into the kiss to join Granby's, though he still remained rather more restrained than the other man.

Though his hand fairly aches to touch Laurence, he doesn't, nothing further than that light touch against the side of his neck, the fingers tucked under his collar. It seems more important that ever to let Laurence find his own pace and, if that means holding himself in check then it's something that he's more than capable of doing.

Laurence took the kiss a bit deeper, his touch growing a bit more heated and firm.

Though Laurence did not say it outloud -being rather occupied at the present time- he was incredibly grateful for Granby's patience with him. It was no secret to him that the other man had a great deal more experience than him in such matters and the fact that he was so willing to make concessions for Laurence's own lack of experience spoke very highly of him.

When Laurence pushes the kiss deeper, Granby follows, deeply and utterly aware of Laurence's palm against his skin. God, there are other places he wants that had, but he bites his tongue rather than ask.

It's a struggle, but he makes it, fingers sliding into Laurence's hair to at least hold him to the kiss.

At Granby's fingers moving to his head like that, Laurence let loose restraint and groaned whole-heartedly into the kiss. One hand came up to slide around the curve of Granby's neck, while the other dug hard into his hip, pulling them both closer.

The sound was glorious, was perfect, and os was the way that Laurence tugged him in closer, pressing the lines of their bodies together. It's all that Granby can do not to move against him, not to grind against him. He holds himself relatively in check, sucking on Laurence's bottom lip, his fingers pushed into his hair, careful not to pull.

Laurence could very well have continued on entirely in that established vein if given no hints to do otherwise, and he did indeed do so. Kissing and touching in such a manner required very little thought and was tolerably pleasant besides.

Though he's seen rough use in his life, John Granby has never been tortured - this, though, is what he imagines it would feel like. He shifts, determined to be patient, to be what Laurence wants and needs, but God, it's maddening. He breaks the kiss, breathless.

"Please, Will," he says, unsure of what he's even asking for, aware of the needy tone in his voice as he takes another deep kiss.

That tone in Granby's voice was enough to give Laurence pause and he momentarily halted, looking at the other man with a curious expression before the kissing resumed. It was almost enough to be slightly worrying, but if Granby would not tell him outright what it was that he wished...

It's almost painful. He refuses to believe that Laurence doesn't, on some level, know exactly what he wants, but he's also determined not to push too hard. He settles for squirming a little closer, pressing forward just a little with his hips.

Though it doubtless must have seemed like far too long a time to Granby, Laurence's hand did eventually move from its place on Granby's hip to regions further south. Yet even then he still moved at an extremely slow pace.

They're both still fully dressed but, still, Laurence's hand on his cock is enough to make Granby's his jerk, pressing against Laurence's palm as he groans against his lips.

The sound of Granby's groan seemed to travel a curious route from Laurence's ears, down his spine in a pleasurable shiver, and straight to his groin. He rubbed his hand against the fabric of Granby's trousers, aware of his own steadily growing interest, yet resolved to save that for a later time.

William Laurence is possibly the most infuriating man that Granby has ever met. That much is certain. He's sure that he hasn't been groped through his trousers like this since he was a boy, but it's somehow exactly what he wants, right in that moment.

His hand slips down from Laurence's hair to his arm, fingers curling to squeeze his bicep.

Laurence gasped slightly into the kiss, breath catching unsteadily in his throat. His hand was surer now, moving with a steadiness that nearly every other part of him seemed to lack. Eventually, he may have to move on to a different track, yet for the moment he was content as things were.

The situation was almost uncomfortably warm and close, and it undoubtably looked incredibly foolish from the view of another, but it felt right in a way he could not define and would not try to for the moment.
