There is always paperwork to be done. Granby has handwriting typical of an Aviator - educated by the Corps from the age of seven, there had always been more exciting things to do than practising making letters, especially once he'd started to show promise as a Mid. It's not that it's illegible, just that it's a bit of a scrawl and he does have a tendency to spread the words out more than they maybe need to be. Still, he's grateful of something to be doing, something to keep his mind occupied. He's been aware of being something of a scrub for the last week or so, but it really is impossible, unable to tell what way Laurence is going to go from one minute to the next.

Files? Are much easier to predict.

Granby glances up towards the clock. Not long until dinner, but time to finish what he's doing.

He's very aware that they're standing practically on the threshold, albeit with the door closed. He doesn't care - he can't. Gently, he eases it deeper.

For the time being, Laurence followed where Granby lead without complaint or second-guessing. He did, however, begin attempting to move the both of them away from the door somewhat.

Granby lets himself be guided, happy to go where Laurence will lead him; that much, at least, has not changed. His hand slips from the side of Laurence's neck to his shoulder and then on down to rest against his waist.

Laurence pushed the kiss a bit deeper, but only just a bit. As he had told Granby before, he needed time and to go slowly.

He'd quite happily kiss Laurence for hours, even if he's not to be allowed anything else, but he's loathe to do it standing.

He breaks the kiss, sucking lightly on Laurence's bottom lip before he pulls away.

"This could be more comfortable," he says.

Laurence blinked once or twice, looking a bit confused by what Granby had said until his brain was able to fully function once more now that it was no longer preoccupied. "Yes. I suppose so."

"I'll gladly stand in the middle of the room and kiss you all night," says Granby, leaning in and taking another kiss for emphasis. "I merely suggest that there's probably something easier."

"Of course." Laurence glanced over towards where their beds lay. "I would be quite willing to move if you would not mind, then.."

"You think I'd mind?" asks Granby, so breathlessly incredulous for a moment. He shook his head, touching Laurence again, fingers straying under the collar of his shirt.

"Never."

Laurence smiled, blushing out of habit at the boldness of the thing, but not truly seeming to mind much. "Well, then, John," he said fondly, his fingers pressing gently into the other man's arm as he began moving.

In this, he's detirmined to let Laurence lead - let him decide the length of his own steps, as it were. He let Laurence walk him backwards, stealing kisses as he went, until his knees hit the bed.

With no resistance, Laurence continued at much the same pace until they were both seated on the bed. Only then did he begin returning Granby's kisses in full.

His hand stays on the side of Laurence's neck, palm against warm skin, fingers stroking just under his collar. Granby pauses, turning his head, sucking on his bottom lip to send the kiss deeper.

Laurence responded as Granby wanted, deepening the kiss and pulling the other man closer to him, moving the fabric of Granby's shirt up just enough to graze his fingers across the bare skin of his hip. He could feel himself flushing through it all, but continued regardless.

It's only the lightest touch, the barest graze of Laurence's fingers against his skin, but it's completely unasked for and it's enough to make Granby shiver, just barely.

Taking the reaction as a small form of encouragement, Laurence continued the contact, light as it was. Granby certainly did not seem averse to it and even as Laurence pulled back a bit to look at the other man, he knew that he did not have to ask whether or not he should keep to his current route.

He could go mad, just from the feeling of Laurence's fingertips stroking against his bare skin. it's nothing, compared to the weight of his experience, but he just doesn't care.

Laurence pulls back, looks him in the eye and Granby doesn't say anything, but he does nod.

That nod was incredibly helpful to Laurence and he gave a small smile in reply, nodding as well before moving in to kiss Granby once more. It was a bit deeper than before, but still almost achingly slow.

It's so slow but deep enough to make him ache. It's a long time since someone took the time to kiss Granby like this, and his cheeks flush. He makes a soft sound against Laurence's mouth, pressed into the kiss.

At the noise, his fingers tightened, digging firmly into Granby's hip for a moment before quickly relaxing and lightening once more just as abruptly. Though he often felt foolish and out of his depth, he was still testing the boundaries of this new thing.

The grip on his hip is good, enough to make him shift against the bed if not against Laurence. He makes that sound again, swallows it, his mouth still pressed against Laurence's, kissing him as slowly as he can manage.

Laurence pressed more firmly once again when Granby shifted in that way. A soft sound of his own escaped into the kiss to join Granby's, though he still remained rather more restrained than the other man.

Though his hand fairly aches to touch Laurence, he doesn't, nothing further than that light touch against the side of his neck, the fingers tucked under his collar. It seems more important that ever to let Laurence find his own pace and, if that means holding himself in check then it's something that he's more than capable of doing.

Laurence took the kiss a bit deeper, his touch growing a bit more heated and firm.

Though Laurence did not say it outloud -being rather occupied at the present time- he was incredibly grateful for Granby's patience with him. It was no secret to him that the other man had a great deal more experience than him in such matters and the fact that he was so willing to make concessions for Laurence's own lack of experience spoke very highly of him.

When Laurence pushes the kiss deeper, Granby follows, deeply and utterly aware of Laurence's palm against his skin. God, there are other places he wants that had, but he bites his tongue rather than ask.

It's a struggle, but he makes it, fingers sliding into Laurence's hair to at least hold him to the kiss.
